Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

The Collision Center Painter and Body Shop Technician is expected to:

* Protect the legal, financial and moral well-being of the Larry H. Miller Companies dealerships;
* Properly prepare and paint restored vehicles using applicable materials to achieve maximum quality results;
* Achieve and maintain all applicable training and certifications required to perform job duties;
* Be a teacher to support the efforts of other employees to be successful;
* Seek ways to improve business operations efficiencies and customer service.

Primary Duties:

* Assess restored vehicle for acceptability to refinish.
* Communicate with appropriate personnel regarding any issue which may cause a delay to complete restoration of a vehicle.
* Assess any supplemental vehicle needs, labor, parts, and communicate with estimator.
* Prepare and mix paints for proper matching, efficiency and proper quality application of paint to restored vehicle.
* Complete all aspects of paint refinishing including assessment of quality control.
* Maintain assigned equipment and supplies.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times and adhere to all OSHA/EPA requirements.
* Oversees the production and direction of a paint team..
* Perform all body and fender repairs utilizing welding, body alignment and structural operations.
* Disassemble and assess any supplemental vehicle needs, labor, parts, and communicate with estimator.
* Perform quality repairs at all times and notify management of any substandard processes, parts or procedures.
* Communicate with appropriate personnel regarding any issue which may cause a repair delay to a vehicle.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times and adhere to all OSHA/EPA requirements.
* Perform all job duties requested from management.

* Ensure safe operation and transportation of all vehicles at all times and adheres to all OSHA and LHM policy requirements

Job Qualifications:

* Experience in body shop painting which provides knowledge and experience in prepping, painting, sanding, buffing, color matching to a vehicle's pre-accident condition.
* ICAR, BASF refinish certifications within one year of employment
* Maintain valid driver's license and MVR within company policy requirements.

Physical Requirements:

* Work performed in a shop setting due to location of customer vehicles.
* Exposure to shop environment such as noise, dust, odors and fumes, chemicals and adhesives.
* Required to lift up to 100 lbs.
* Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, use hands and fingers, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls.
* Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch.
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions precedent at that time.
* Required vision include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
* Required to operate equipment and move vehicles in a safe manner at all times.
