Job Summary:

Saxton Horne is looking for a media planner-buyer located in Sandy, UT who is highly motivated and ready to work in a fast-paced agency environment. The Media Planner/Buyer is responsible for the planning, negotiation and placement of all media for existing clients and new business. This includes media plan development, client development, client presentations, and media buying. This position will also be involved in media research and strategy alignment for the overall media plan.
The right candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work as a team player. A positive can-do attitude is essential.

Responsibilities:


* Determine best use of integrated online and offline multi-platform media mix to create comprehensive media strategies.
* Negotiate, purchase and manage media in both the traditional and digital landscape on a local, regional and national level.
* Develop and issue RFP's to local media vendors; gather and analyze proposals to determine media selections, negotiate rates, highest value-add, and optimal use of budgeted funds
* Assist account team in presenting recommendations and rationale to the client.
* In depth understanding of the market(s), profiles, media, clients.
* Work with software programs such as Strata/SBMS, PrimeLingo, MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
* Oversee and monitor ongoing campaign performance, ensuring campaigns are executed properly and according to client expectations.
* Assist team in strategic post-campaign analysis and provide recommendations for future initiatives. Work with stations to make up underdelivery weight.
* Approve vendor invoices and resolves billing discrepancies, as needed.
* Process changes on media buys and confirmation paperwork.
* Help to train media assistants and interns at the agency. Be a teacher to support the efforts of other employees to be successful.
* Foster relationships with vendors and media staff.
* Must be comfortable speaking in public settings and to clients directly.
* Be committed to "protect the legal, financial, and moral well-being of the company."

Required Qualifications:


* At least four years of agency experience in media planning and implementation with a mix of traditional and digital media experience.
* Bachelor's degree in communication, marketing or business preferred
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation, analysis, and charting.
* Attention to detail and time management to deliver high quality work for multiple projects across several client engagements while meeting deadlines.
* Maintain professional and related business knowledge of media and markets by reviewing local/national/professional/trade publications

Physical Requirements


* Ability to work in an open layout agency setting.
* Required to be in-office during established business hours.
* Regularly required to sit for long periods of time.
