Job Description

The Event Security Officer will work in multiple locations based on the security and safety needs of specific events. In this capacity, the officer will interact with guests in the screening security locations, access control, crowd control, risk management, alcohol enforcement, and court/stage security.


* Ability to work in all areas and sections of the arena
* Provide a safe and secure environment for all guests
* Assist guests with mobile ticketing to ensure seamless entry into the arena
* Assist guests by directing them to correct seats based on ticketed seating
* Assist guests by directing them to other services in/around Vivint Smart Home Arena via the Utah
* Jazz App
* Will know emergency evacuation plan and exit routes and must be able to remain claim and provide direction and guidance in the event of an emergency
* Be responsible for ensuring all guests are aware of arena policies as they pertain to safety and the
* overall guest experience
* Be aware of any special activities, functions or promotions for that particular event and a strong understanding of all areas of the arena
* Monitor safety and security conditions in area
* Enforce arena safety and security rules and policies
* Complete required training successfully

* Be a good teammate, contribute positively to a winning culture, and be respectful
* Demonstrate world-class customer service and if you don't directly interact with the customer, support those that do

* Must be comfortable searching bags and a person's body respectfully and efficiently.
* Must be able to take objections and respond with a guest service approach first.
* Must be able to follow verbal and written direction
* Able to work flexible hours ( evenings, weekends and holidays)
* Possess reliable transportation and observe a 5:00 pm call time for most events
* Strong verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other employees.
* Maintain a clean, professional and well-groomed appearance as set by Vivint Smart Home Arena management.
* Must have access to a computer with internet access and remain proficient in its use.


* Ability to stand for the entire shift (55% Standing/Walking, 45% Stair Climbing)
* Frequent climbing of stairs, moving of barriers and boxes of handout materials up to 25 pounds.
* Must stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, bend or twist; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle, grasp or reach with hands and arms.
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
* Majority of duties are performed in-house under controlled temperatures, some positions are located in inclement areas or outside on Vivint Smart Home Arena property
