Job Title: Director of Client Services
Department: Client Services
Reporting to: Senior Vice President
Status: Full Time, Exempt
Summary
The primary responsibility of the Director of Client Services is to lead the Client Services team in the
strategy and planning of programs and initiatives for all of the agency's accounts. As the Client
Services leader, the DCS serves as the senior strategist on the Client Services team, providing
overall strategic direction and counsel for priority agency accounts. This role is ultimately
responsible for account satisfaction and account execution for both automotive and nonautomotive
accounts.
The DCS works closely with Senior Leadership to review existing accounts and manage client groups
to account profitability. In addition, they are responsible for creating strategic business solutions
that result in growth and development of agency accounts.
The tertiary responsibility of the DCS is to work with the Group Account Director to manage their
assigned Client Services team members, establishing training and development plans, managing
growth opportunities, group/individual utilization(s) and realization(s), as well as annual reviews.
Responsibilities
* Oversees opportunity strategy development
* Oversees RFP strategy development
* Ensures strategic recommendations are solving business objectives for all clients
* Ensures agency is successful with execution of all client engagements
* Manages agency-wide account satisfaction
* Ensures agency is regularly addressing client issues/concerns
* Manages client profitability across the agency
* Manages agency review of all clients
* Manages agency-wide client revenue goals and projections
* Oversees agency-wide account penetration, up selling and cross selling
* Manages GAD/AD team
* Manages department utilization(s) and realization(s)
* Maintains professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values
* Protect the legal, moral and financial well-being of the company
* Other duties, as assigned
Highest Level Tasks
Client Relations
* Provides strategic counsel to clients including defining annual goals and objectives for
priority clients
Nurturing/Organic Growth
* Partners with Sr. Leadership to identify organic growth opportunities within existing clients
New Business Development
* Partners with Sr. Leadership to identify and qualify new business opportunities
* Leads priority Sales Discovery meeting with Sr. Leadership
* Determine RFP/Opportunity Team
* Provides recommendations to Sr. Leadership on agency service offerings/capabilities
* Reviews and approves priority program/campaign proposals
* Works with President, Senior Vice President, Director of Finance to approve executive
investments
* Develops RFP response + presentation for priority clients
* Leads RFP presentation for priority clients
* Reviews and approves initial RFP proposal strategies
* Reviews and approves initial RFP proposals
* Participates in initial RFP proposal presentation for priority clients
Program Administration
* Approves labor + expense write off amounts and reasons
* Participates in program/campaign/project retrospectives on priority clients
* Reviews all client profitability reporting
* Reviews monthly and quarterly write off reporting for agency
* Works with Finance and Sr. Leadership to set annual write off goals
* Works with Finance and Sr. Leadership to determine Go/No-Go for next year
Admin
* Leads weekly account team meeting
* Attends weekly director meeting
* Oversees department financials
* With Creative Director, develops agency brand standards for proposals, SOWs, presentation
materials + decks
* Approves all GAD/AD timesheets
* Completes timesheet daily





Requirements
* 8-10 years Client Services experience
* Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field
* Marketing agency experience
* Complete knowledge of agency capabilities/offerings
* Auto industry experience required
* Skilled at ensuring program/campaign pricing is aligned with industry and financial
profitability goals
* Mastery in managing client profitability and identifying troubled accounts
* Mastery in leadership of integrated strategy throughout client relationships
* Mastery in developing integrated marketing plans + budgets aligned with client's business
objectives
* Mastery in successful negotiations and conflict resolution
* Skilled in maintaining C-Suite relationships and managing to a win-win relationship
* Proven success in growing new business and client development across the agency
* Experience with weighted forecasting and pipeline reporting
* Experience with account staffing and mapping
* Experience successfully staffing, managing and growing a department
* Experience managing a departmental budget
Based on Agency Account Mapping you may be asked to perform responsibilities and tasks
associated with other roles including, but not limited to: Group Account Director, Account Director, Sr.
Account Manager, and Account Manager roles (per the Client Services Role Matrix).
