Job Description



Primary Responsibilities:

The Collision Center Detailer Shop Support is expected to:


* Protect the legal, financial and moral well-being of the Larry H. Miller Companies dealerships;
* Ensure vehicles are clean, secured and organized (including parts) in working environment;
* Assist estimators and technicians to achieve an efficient, safe and organized work environment
* Be a teacher to support the efforts of other employees to be successful.
* Seek ways to improve business operations efficiencies and customer service.

Primary Duties:

Ensure maximum productivity, customer service and cost control.


* Wash, clean, and dry all cars as required and ready for delivery.
* Pick up and/or deliver vehicles as required.
* Check-in vehicles noting VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), mileage, license, fuel level, and assess for damage.
* Effectively communicate with technicians and management to ensure the Collision Center shop and lot is appropriately cleaned, organized and safe.
* Advise Collision Estimator and/or Manger of needed repairs and/or maintenance.
* Ensure all vehicles are secured and locked prior to close of business.
* Pick up and/or deliver parts, tools, supplies and run errands as needed.
* Deliver customers to and from the dealership safely while maintaining a positive attitude.
* Maintain a secure, efficient and organized route sheet of pickups and deliveries which abides by applicable driving laws and contributes to the store's customer service satisfaction.
* Ensure shop and collision center lot is clean and organized; dispose of trash as needed.
* Perform all job duties requested from management.

Job Qualifications:


* High school diploma or the equivalent preferred.
* Maintain valid driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) within company policy requirements.
* Minimum of 18 years old.
* Basic communication skills -- ability to read and write.
* Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance.
* One year experience as a detailer preferred.
* Respirator qualification recommended.
* Ability to use hand and power tools as well as other machinery safely.

Physical Requirements:


* Exposure to shop environment such as noise, dust, odors and fumes, chemicals and adhesives.
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions precedent at that time.
* Required to have an annual fitness for duty evaluation by employer's medical provider.
* Required to lift up to a minimum of 100 lbs.
* Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, use hands and fingers, handle or operate objects, tools or controls.
* Occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch.
* Required vision include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
* Required to operate equipment and move vehicles in a safe manner at all times.
