Job Description



Summary

The primary responsibility of the Associate Director of Social Media is to lead their respective group in the strategy + planning as it relates to Social Media. As the lead, the Associate Director of Social Media serves at the senior strategist providing overall advertising strategy, industry knowledge, platform direction, + counsel for all accounts. This role is ultimately responsible for the satisfaction, execution, + profitability for Social Media on all accounts.

The secondary responsibility of the Associate Director of Social Media is to work closely with Sr. Leadership in developing advertising solutions that utilize social media platforms. This includes but not limited to: advertising, reputation management, analytics, publishing tools, + industry specific software.

The tertiary responsibility of the Associate Social Media Director is to manage the team members in their group. This includes: establishing onboarding plans, managing growth opportunities, group/individual utilization(s) and realization(s), as well as yearly reviews.

Responsibilities:


* Serves as subject matter expert for all things social media
* Ensures that the agency is at the forefront of all social media trends and regularly pilots new ad strategies and campaign types
* Continual mastery of Facebook ads manager
* Manages annual social media spending for all clients
* Maintains professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values
* Develops ongoing strategic recommendations that solve business objectives for their group of clients, above and beyond contracted client engagement
* Ensures Social Media Group is regularly addressing client issues/concerns
* Establish standardized measurement and reporting discipline, inclusive of ROI modeling, individualized campaign KPIs/scorecarding and core brand metrics
* Fosters individual development of staff and defining career path steps for their personal growth and value to the department
* Owns escalated client conflict resolution, as necessary
* Oversees research for new accounts
* Ensures alignment between Marketing and Channel strategies
* Ensures accuracy and relevance of research and inventory/asset insights
* Cultivates relationships with clients at senior levels (e.g. VP Marketing + CMO)
* Promotes and practices collaboration with cross department teams to drive client strategy and business forward
* Protects the legal, moral and financial well-being of the company
* Other duties, as assigned

Highest Level Tasks

New Business Development


* Supports in identification and qualification of new business opportunities
* Assists Sr. Leadership team with new business sales forecasting

* Determine criteria and notify Sr. Leadership for Go/No-Go Decision
* Reviews and approves program/campaign/project proposal strategy
* Reviews and approves program/campaign proposals

Auto Execution


* Reviews + approves priority client Tactical Budget/Calendar

Auto Annual Planning


* Works with Sr. Leadership + Channel Directors to develop Annual Planning strategy for agency
* Reviews + approves Annual Plan, for priority clients
* Participates in Annual Plan presentation, for priority clients
* Reviews + approves Annual Plan revisions, for priority clients

Client Relations


* Provides strategic counsel to clients including social media + reputation management

Nurturing/Organic Growth


* Partners with Sr. Leadership to generate new ideas and opportunities to ensure success for their client group
* Secures case study approval from Sr. Leadership

Admin


* Completes timesheet daily




* 5+ years agency experience in leading a team
* Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field
* Marketing agency experience
* Advanced knowledge of Facebook ads manager and experience in running various campaigns types
* Blueprint Certified preferred
* Complete knowledge of agency capabilities/offerings
* Auto industry experience preferred
* Skilled at ensuring program/campaign pricing is aligned with industry and financial profitability goals
* Strategic understanding of traditional, digital, and social media planning & buying, along with the proper metrics of success and measurement opportunities
* Mastery in managing client profitability and identifying troubled accounts
* Mastery in leadership of integrated strategy throughout client relationships
* Mastery in developing integrated marketing plans + budgets aligned with client's business objectives
* Mastery in successful negotiations and conflict resolution
* Skilled in maintaining C-Suite relationships and managing to a win-win relationship
* Proven success in growing social media and client development across the agency
* Experience successfully staffing, managing and growing a department
* Experience managing a departmental budget
