Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

The Collision Center Body Shop Apprentice is expected to:

* Protect the legal, financial and moral well-being of the Larry H. Miller Companies dealerships;
* Assist to repair damaged vehicles using appropriate tools, technologies, and ICAR procedures in order to restore vehicle to pre-accident/damaged state, factory specifications and customer satisfaction;
* Achieve and maintain all applicable training and certifications required to perform job duties;
* Be a teacher to support the efforts of other employees to be successful;
* Seek ways to improve business operations efficiencies and customer service.

Primary Duties:

* Assist Body Shop Technician to perform all body and fender repairs utilizing welding, body alignment and structural operations.
* Assist Body Shop Technician to disassemble and assess any supplemental vehicle needs, labor, parts, and communicate with estimator.
* Assist Body Shop Technician to perform quality repairs at all times and notify management of any substandard processes, parts or procedures.
* Communicate with appropriate personnel regarding any issue which may cause a repair delay to a vehicle.
* Proactively take part in learning and maintain current product and technical knowledge through manuals, training, experience, and Body Shop Technicians.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times and adhere to all OSHA/EPA requirements
* Perform all job duties requested from management.

Job Qualifications:

* High school diploma or the equivalent recommended but not required.
* Maintain valid driver's license and MVR within company policy requirements.
* Ensure timely enrollment and attendance to a manufacturer's apprentice program.
* Customer Service:

* Be service oriented and actively looking for ways to help
* Represent the company to all employees and customers in all communications
* Ability to use hand and power tools as well as other machinery safely.
* Reliable- being dependable in fulfilling job obligations
* Adaptable- open to change and variety within the workplace

Physical Requirements:

* Work performed in a shop setting due to location of tools and customer vehicles.
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions precedent at that time.
* Exposure to shop environment such as noise, dust, odors and fumes, chemicals and adhesives.
* Required to lift up to 100 lbs.
* Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, use hands and fingers, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls.
* Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch.
* Required vision include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus
* Required to operate equipment and move vehicles in a safe manner at all times.
